Movie Review: Naked Souls (1996)

I’ve got to give a lot of credit to this movie. Look, it’s not great, but it has a few things about it that I really like. For one, it’s got David Warner, who seems to have dominated the nineties’ need for classy British actors to perform in sleaze the way Pleasence had in the ’70s and ’80s and Cushing had in the ’60s.

He’s enjoyable, even if he doesn’t do a whole lot. The same can be said for the great Pamela Anderson, who has a far smaller role than the poster would have you believe.

But it’s still exactly what you’d expect. And I’d also like to make an observation here. This movie has straight-to-video vibes all around, with the look of the movie and its production value and all that. According to Wikipedia, the movie was not only made for $7 million, but made nearly $60 million at the box office. It’s Wikipedia, so that might not be accurate. But if it is…
