Movie Review: Night Train to Terror (1985)
Look at that tagline on the poster. I didn’t expect this to be an anthology film, but that’s what it is. And it’s not a very effective one. I didn’t know anything about this movie before I started watching it. The title and the poster sort of made me feel like I was about to see a Terror Train ripoff, and it’s definitely not that. So I guess credit for originality.
There’s a weird bit of personification allegory with God and the Devil on this train that sort of starts off the movie. Well, that and a pop rock band apparently shooting a music video on the same train.
I’m just not really sure what the filmmakers were going for. The narration makes the movie feel like a bad ’50s movie, but the filmmaking makes it feel like a bad ’80s movie. Which is what it is. Some of the ideas here are sort of interesting, but never good.
