Nosferatu is a masterpiece of silent cinema, and one of the most important horror movies ever made. It’s an adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, but would have to legally give the vampire its titular name so as to avoid a lawsuit by Bram Stoker’s widow. Most versions nowadays will refer to the monster as Dracula, though.
The look of the vampire is very unique, and it’s eccentuated by the expressionistic style which would utilize shadows and angles very well.
Even today, the movie still manages to be chilling. Max Schreck’s performance as the titular vampire is not to be missed.
