Movie Review: Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979)

I haven’t seen an awful lot of Werner Herzog, but it’s easy to see why he’s considered such an artist. To take on one of the greatest silent films of all time and remake one of the greatest German films of all time all in one is no easy task, but the madman did it, in no small part to the spot-on casting of Klaus Kinski.

Kinski is so fucking creepy and just all-around perfect. Like the original, the movie is hypnotic and visually stunning, though obviously in some differing ways. The locations are great, the cast is great. The music is offbeat and weird, but still pretty good. This is an excellent film.
