Movie Review: Nothing but Trouble (1991)

--

This beautiful disaster of a film was written and directed by Dan Aykroyd, and stars Aykroyd along with Chevy Chase, Demi Moore, and John Candy. There may be a lot of talent behind the film, but it’s definitely a giant mess.

The plot takes a couple of wealthy city folk (Chase and Moore) and puts them in this weird town, where they’re essentially held captive by the judge (Aykroyd) over a traffic ticket. What ensues can only be described as insanity.

It’s not a good movie, but it definitely is an interesting one. For all its faults, it is incredibly creative, and I could perhaps see it being a decent film if it had a good directorial voice. This movie reeks of Aykroyd’s craziness, and he’s always best when toned down.

Rating: 3/10
