Movie Review: Open Water (2003)

Basically The Blair Witch Project at sea, but it’s not as good, interesting, or nearly as effective as that one. And it’s still decent.

The biggest difference is the acting isn’t as good. While we’re with these two characters the entire time, at tims, it’s hard to believe that they’re in the situation the movie prevents them as being in.

Especially Daniel Travis, who has a few scenes where his line delivery is kind of embarrassing. I didn’t really mind Blanchard Ryan. She seemed like she was fine.

This might be the only good shark movie aside from Jaws, and it is quite tense, so it’s worth watching, even if it’s not great and it looks like absolute shit.

Rating: 6/10
