Movie Review: Pride & Prejudice (2005)

I read this novel several years ago and really loved it. And I’m drawing attention to that because I really didn’t like Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, so I’m by no means a Janeite. But I did kind of love the Ang Lee Sense and Sensibility movie. This may not be quite as good as that, but with a strong cast and solid direction, it’s still very good.

I love Keira Knightley, and she’s fantastic here.

She is Elizabeth Bennet, and most of the cast comes close to matching her. Rosamund Pike and Matthew Macfayden stand out.

I don’t know if this will make a lot of sense, but the movie’s just incredibly romantic. It’s a beautiful film to look at, with the costumes and cinematography. And it’s just so good.
