Movie Review: Rats: Night of Terror (1984)

Rats: Night of Terror may be Bruno Mattei’s best film, but that really, really is not saying much. Still, I enjoyed the hell out of this schlock — especially the ending.

Spoiler alert.

This is your typical post-apocalyptic world is taken over by rats movie, I suppose. But it’s the execution in the direction, the acting, and the dubbing that makes this truly enjoyable. The dubbing is hilariously bad. I’ve not seen an Italian movie from this period with as funny dubbing as this. Every line delivery is so weird.

And that’s pretty much all there is to say. There are a few dull moments, but the unintentional spikes in comedy mostly make up for it.

Again, especially the ending. It might be the most enjoyably dumb endings I’ve ever seen.

Rating: 5/10
