Movie Review: Robot Jox (1990)

Robot Jox could have greatly benefited from one or two more fight scenes, because the movie does drag for a while there in the middle. But any movie about giant robots fighting for the control of Alaska is bound to have some entertainment value, especially when it’s done with probably a quarter of the budget that the movie truly deserved.

This movie takes its dystopian/post-apocalyptic setting and has some fun with it, mixing in a little satire here nad there (should have been more) to a fun effect. The premise is so inherently silly that it’d be out of place if that stuff wasn’t there. While I do think there should have been more of it, I’m glad it’s there, and it makes the non-fight scenes more entertaining.

Because really we only get two fight scenes. Both are a lot of fun, but we have a lot of time in between them, and the movie does drag. But I think it’s mostly worth it.
