Movie Review: Rockula (1990)
I have no real business enjoying Rockula as much as I did. It’s directed by Luca Bercovici of Ghoulies fame, and it’s certainly an odd movie, as it’s about a vampire rock star who tries to get the girl who’s actually a reincarnation of the same woman he’s been pursuing every generation.
But it is charming all the way through.
It’s kind of funny, but it’s just enjoyable, mainly. The music is good. Bo Diddley has a prominent role, which is crazy. Actually for whatever reason there are a lot of musicians in this movie, with Toni Basil playing Rockula’s mom, and Thomas Dolby also having a big role. I don’t get it. But I like it.
