Movie Review: Rodan (1956)

Rodan’s first film predates his appearance in the Godzilla films. It’s Toho’s first kaiju film filmed in color, so the budget is definitely there.

As a monster, Rodan isn’t as compelling as Godzilla, of course. Rodan is really just a big pterosaur.

But there’s more than one, and even Meganulon appears here.

The movie definitely has more dull moments than I’d like, but I still found myself enjoying it. I like these monster movies when they focus on the humans’ terror around the monsters.
