Movie Review: Silent Night, Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out! (1989)

It’s not a great thing when the most interesting part of this movie is the cast, particularly when most of the acting isn’t particularly good. Robert Culp is good; I’ll give this movie that.

But this movie stars Bill Moseley, who’s normally very reliable. Here, though, he’s just dull, and it’s not really his fault, because he’s given basically nothing to work with. He’s just a mute guy going around. His appearance is fun and schlocky, but the movie doesn’t do anything with it.

Other than that, this is inexplicably a cast of David Lynch regulars. There’s Richard Beymer and Eric DaRe from Twin Peaks.

And then also Laura Harring from Mulholland Drive.

It’s a weird coincidence, since all of these David Lynch projects were released after the movie, but it’s also far more interesting than anything else going on in the movie. It’s an incredibly standard slasher movie that’s far too slow for its own good.

Rating: 2/10
