Movie Review: Smokey and the Bandit (1977)

Smokey and the Bandit is ridiculously entertaining. It’s fast paced, action packed, and quite funny.

The plot is incredibly simple. It’s just one long chase scene, but it’s an entertaining one. Burt Reynolds has a natural charm that lights up the scream, and I like all the other characters as well.

I’m glad Jackie Gleason’s Buford T. Justice wasn’t too over the top. I was expecting Sheriff J.W. Pepper from the Roger Moore Bond movies, and while the character is silly, it’s nothing like that.

Rating: 8/10
