Movie Review: Stage Fright (1950)

While this may be the least memorable Hitchcock film I’ve seen, it’s still a Hitchcock film, so it’s a pretty stylish film noir with some compelling performances. Jane Wyman and Michael Wilding have some great chemistry, and there is a surprising amount of comedy in their interactions.

But my favourite is easily Marlene Dietrich, who plays successful singer/actress, Charlotte Inwood. Wyman may be the star, but Dietrich steals the show.

The plot may not be the most interesting, but there’s still plenty to keep you entertained, between the characters, the performances, and the direction. It’s a decent movie, but sort of a minor classic.
