Movie Review: Sudden Impact (1983)

Sudden Impact is today really only remembered for its classic line by Inspector Harry Callahan: “Go ahead, make my day.”

It’s a fantastic line, and I’d say it’s even better than Callahan’s catchphrases from the first two movies.

Other than that, though, this is a pretty standard Dirty Harry movie. It’s directed by Clint Eastwood, who’s directed a lot of great movies over the years. This isn’t one of them, though his surehandedness is still welcome.

It’s decent, respectable. It’s not as entertaining as the three ’70s movies in the series, but it’s still decent. Even while the story remains uninspired and the action isn’t all that great, he’s still Harry Callahan. They continue to get the character right.

Rating: 6/10
