Movie Review: Superdragon vs. Superman (1975)

Bruceploitation is a beautiful thing. But I guess I enjoy the movies more in theory than in execution. I mean it’s a bad movie. Arguably the most fun thing about it is the title. Sometimes called Bruce Lee Against Supermen, sometimes called Superdragon vs. Superman, and sometimes called Bruce Lee vs. Superman, the movie is (surprisingly) actually kind of a superhero movie, sort of paying homage to Bruce Lee’s star-turning role in The Green Hornet.

So it’s kind of neat to see a low budget Hong Kong attempt at a superhero movie, especially now in the age of superhero blockbusters.

And the fighting is okay. Some of it is pretty good. Bruce Li is a lot of fun.

The movie makes little sense, features some Chinese guys in brownface, and has a mix of good action and utterly terrible action. It’s fun nonsense.

Rating: 4/10
