Movie Review: The Angry Red Planet (1959)

I am not exaggerating when I say that this is one of the ugliest films I’ve ever seen. I appreciate the effort, of course, but with their lack of foresight, the filmmakers chose to put a red tint over the entirety of everything on Mars, and it’s truly just vomit-inducing to look at.

It’s a shame, too, because there is some wonderful imagination in the creatures on the surface of Mars, such as the giant spider crab thing, which looks pretty great. But the presentation is just so offputting that there isn’t a lot of entertainment to get out of this.
