Movie Review: The Invisible Man Returns (1940)
The Invisible Man Returns is a fairly unspectacular sequel to a pretty special movie. Being the second movie in the Invisible Man series, it’s sorely missing the dark humor of director James Whale, and dare I say, star Claude Rains.
Instead of Claude Rains, we have horror legend Vincent Price in his first horror role.
And while his voice is incredibly distinct, and while Price was a fabulous actor, his talent doesn’t really come through in this movie.
The plot is far more convoluted than in the original, and while it makes the movie a little interesting, I’m not sure it’s for the best, overall.
It’s still worth a watch if you’re into these kind of movies, but it’s not nearly as good as the original.
