Movie Review: The Mummy’s Curse (1944)

It seems like most of this movie is filler, honestly. There’s a long flashback which itself is recycled from the first two movies in the series, and there’s just not a lot of plot. Once the mummy (Lon Chaney, Jr.) gets going, basically all he does is slowly chase after his love, killing people in the way.

As stale as the movie may be, the mummy action — for lack of a better word — is definitely more entertaining than it was in the last entry. I really like the way the mummy looks, too. I understand that for the first time, it was a mask, and not makeup, but I still think it looks as good as ever.

The movie clocks in at just over 60 minutes, so while it may not be great, it’s not really a waste of your time either.
