Movie Review: The Premature Burial (1962)

I didn’t know there was a Roger Corman-Edgar Allan Poe movie that didn’t feature Vincent Price, but here it is. And this is one I’ve never seen before, somehow, but it’s also the worst one.

And it’s not necessarily because there’s no Price. Ray Milland is a more than capable replacement, and he gives a legitimately good performance.

But this movie manages to be rather dry, despite having that welcoming gothic atmosphere and a solid musical score. The movie is very talky, and the story is never particularly interesting.

Rating: 5/10
