Movie Review: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010)

The opening scene of this one had me thinking that we were about to see something completely different — a new direction for the series.

And then the rest of the movie was basically the same as the first two.

It’s a pretty uninspired love triangle, with pretty uninspired lead performances. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are much better here than Taylor Lautner; I’ll give them that.

The effects are still bad. The movie kind of looks bad. But most importantly, the movie crawls along at a snail’s pace. I’m not sure if any of these movies on their own so far truly feel like they are a full narrative, and I’d imagine it’s only going to get worse because the next two are only adaptations of half a novel.

That having been said, I did enjoy this movie a bit more than the other two. It is what it is.
