Movie Review: V/H/S/2 (2013)

One of the things I liked least about the first V/H/S movie was the frame narrative, which didn’t add a whole lot and wasn’t all that interesting.

I think the best way to talk about this, since it’s an anthology movie, is to break it down by its parts.

Tape 49 (frame narrative

So we’ve got a boyfriend and girlfriend investigating a missing college student, who then come across various tapes that were the frame narrative in the first film. It’s directed by Simon Barrett, screenwriter of You’re Next and The Guest.

Phase I Clinical Trials

Herman (Adam Wingard) has lost eyesight in one of his eyes, so he goes through a clinical trial that will allow him to have his vision back, but with “glitches.” The company also sees what he sees, but eventually he sees dead people. The short is also directed by Adam Wingard.
