Movie Review: Weekend at Bernie’s (1989)

Weekend at Bernie’s is basically a one-joke movie that gets more laughs than it ever really deserves. If this had some more likable leads than Andrew McCarthy and Jonathan Silverman, I could actually see this being a pretty good movie. As it is, though, it’s just okay.

So Bernie dies pretty early in the movie, and to be honest, nothing all that funny happens before that. The dead body comedy may be shallow, but it works here and there. It’s incredibly silly, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t laugh here and there.

And shoutout to the beautiful Catherine Parks, who played Vera in Friday the 13th Part III. She shows up here.
