Movie Review: Wild Things (1998)

Wild Things is erotic and quite explicit in its sex, but it also attempts to have an interesting plot. It’s because of this that I can’t reasonably call it an exploitation film, even though it almost seeems like it wants to be.

Another thing that makes this movie feel more like an actual movie is the cast. The cast is quite good, actually, and has some significant names in it, who are all perfectly cast. This movie has Kevin Bacon, Matt Dillon, Neve Campbell, Denise Richards, and even Robert Wagner and Bill Murray in small roles. Bacon and Campbell are particularly enjoyable.

The cast definitely elevates what’s an otherwise sleazy story about sexual manipulation. It’s alright.

Rating: 5/10
