Scream episode review — 2.7 — Let the Right One In
Original air date: July 12, 2016
Director: Rodman Flender
Writer: Steve Yockey
Rating: 5/10
This episode has one pretty good scene, but overall, it’s not a very good episode. The good scene is when the psychology teacher finds herself alone at the school, getting a call from the killer taunting her about Branson. She gets chased and finds Mr. Branson still alive, but missing a hand.
She gets chased and is thrown down the stairs, probably dying, right while Audrey is showing up. Brooke was planning on going to school to meet Mr. Branson for some reason, but Audrey got a text from the killer saying that she needs to come alone, or they’ll send Brooke the picture of Audrey with Jake’s body.
But Brooke barges in when everybody is figuring out what the hell is going on.
Emma continues to get more and more frustrating, as she’s now going on a romantic picnic with Eli, because she’s frustrated with Kieran again (this time he told the police about the farmhouse thing that she had told him about).
So the two end up sneaking into an unoccupied model home and they actually kiss, but Emma doesn’t feel great about that since she’s still with Kieran, which at this point I thought was completely done, because why is she going on this romantic picnic thing then?
In kind of a neat shot, it’s revealed that there are two dead bodies in the bathrub of this particular house (it’s Eddie and Mr. Branson), so you’re thinking Eli’s the killer. But then the house catches fire and the two have to get out, so maybe it’s not Eli. Also Mr. Branson comes to right when the fire is spreading, so basically the last 24 hours of this guy’s life are absolutely miserable, and he should probably be thankful he died.
Meanwhile Noah and Zoe have been out on a date.
And Noah’s finally about to lose his virginity when Audrey shows up and says she needs to talk to Noah. It’s kind of fun when he says “Someone better have died” because he’s so mad.
It’s not a very good episode, mostly because of Emma. She’s so frustrating at this point. She’s doing dumb shit, her motivation of keeping things from the police is flimsy at best at this point.
