Scream episode review — 3.3 — The Man Behind the Mask
Original air date: July 9, 2019
Director: Darren Grant
Writers: Benjamin Raab and Deric A. Hughes
Rating: 6/10
So this episode may not be great, but it’s far more interesting and entertaining than either of the previous two.
Dean is at this point convinced that Ghostface could indeed by his presumably dead brother, and he’s lured to the junkyard where he thought he died. He tries to go alone, but he’s followed by the reast of the Breakfast Club.
It ends up just being Dean, Liv, and Amir, that actually make it there, though, as Dean slashes Kym’s tires, prompting Kym to confront a group of racist guys whom she thinks is responsible.
At the junkyard, Dean meets Tony Todd’s Hookman, who insists that while it looks bad, he didn’t kill his brother, but did find him there dead. He buried him, knowing that he’d be arrested for murder.
There’s a lot of fairly fun stuff with the characters. Like I’m starting to enjoy the Beth-Amir back and forth. And there are some tense moments here, overall.
