Second Viewing: Head of the Family (1996)

Let me get the obvious out of the way first. Jacqueline Lovell is amazing.

She’s amazingly hot, yes, but she’s actually really good in this movie. This isn’t an easy role for her to play. She plays this sassy incredibly sexy woman stuck in a loveless marriage, who has most of her dialogue during sex scenes with her boyfriend before eventually having to seduce a giant head in order to save her and her boyfriend’s lives.

It’s absolutely absurd, and that’s part of what makes this movie so fun. The other part is that it’s genuinely funny, and only some of that comes from how weird it is (okay, maybe most of it). The dialogue is really quick, witty, and fun, even when the characters are anything but bright.

It’s certainly not a movie for everyone, but if you like weird quirky movies, or you like seeing Jacuqeline Lovell naked (because you’ll be seeing that a lot), then it’s a lot of fun.
