Second Viewing: Nosferatu (1922)

Nosferatu is a masterpiece, of course. The look of the movie is fantastic, from the German expressionist-inspired visuals to the very makeup on the instantly iconic Max Schreck.

This is certainly one of the most entertaining silent films I’ve ever seen. It’s just a really well made movie, which helps, but it also relies on fewer intertitles than most I’ve seen, which makes it feel more modern.

It may not be as complicated as something like Dr. Caligari, but it is able to give some depth to its characters, especially Ellen Hutter, which is something I really picked up on in this watch.

Rating: 8/10
