Second Viewing: Underworld (2003)
Underworld is a passable film. It’s like my least favorite kind of movie, as I’ve always hated the action horror subgenre. And I think it takes a remarkable lack of imagination to have this epic centuries-long war between werewolves and vampires boil down to mostly gunfights.
But Kate Beckinsale is a respectable action hero and she kicks a considerable amount of ass. The movie has its own look to it, which even though it’s not my favorite, I still appreciate it.
The plot has some twists and turns that make it flow pretty nicely. It’s a relatively well made movie, and I think it’s about as entertaining as a movie like this can be for me.
