I was really pleased with how this season story started out. From the very beginning, it feels more “slasher-y” than anything in season 1, with a bunch of teens out partying. They all work at a summer camp, and they murder a fellow counselor, Talvinder Gill.

Five years later, Peter (Lovell Adams-Gray); Andi (Rebecca Liddiard); Dawn (Paula Brancati); Noah (Jim Watson); and Susan (Kaitlyn Leeb) return to the location of the summer camp in order to dispose of the body that they had merely hidden in the past.

However, the camp is now a weirdo commune run by Antoine (Christopher Jacot returning) and Renee (Joanne Vannicola). It’s also the middle of winter, which leads some of the commune members to be suspicious of their supposed reunion story.

Pretty much the second they show up, some weird shit starts happening. There’s a fantastic chainsaw kill in a sauna. Andi is also attacked after stumbling upon the corpse. She’s eventually killed, and the surviving ex-counselors find a note written in blood.

It’s all a familiar setup. It’s a bit of I Know What You Did Last Summer and a bit of something like Terror Train. But it’s perfect for what it is. And the episode ups the gore from the previous season. It’s entertaining as all hell.
