The Magicians episode review — 4.12 — The Secret Sea

The Monster (Eliot) has taked Julia, and now the Monster’s Sister has possessed Julia. So those axes that Margo took are going to have to be used on two people now.

The two of them slaughter a bunch of librarians, but not until after Dean Fogg is able to get Kady out of the Poison Room. Also Plover is in the Poison Room, apparently having been banished there by Alice.

The Poison Room stuff is pretty exciting, and it’s satisfying that it’s been set up for so long. So much of this series seems to be making stuff up on the fly, so I have to appreciate moments where it doesn’t seem like that.

I guess what I enjoy about this episode is that it feels like this season has built to something, which is kind of surprising, given that I feel like I didn’t know what was going on for half the season.
