The Twilight Zone (2020) episode review — 2.5 — Among the Untrodden

Original air date: June 25, 2020
Director: Tayarisha Poe
Writer: Heather Anne Campbell

Rating: 6/10

This episode may go a bit off the rails toward the end, but it’s one of the best episodes of the season so far, telling a relatively strong story even if — and I’m getting tired of saying this — it doesn’t feel like how The Twilight Zone should feel. The original is my favorite television series of all time, so I will keep going back to that idea because I do feel like a lot of these episodes just slap the brand on here, and I guess my complaints are with CBS All Access, so whatever.

But it’s a story about a new girl at an all-girls boarding school who does a report on psychic abilities, and acknowledges that one of her bullies likely has tremendous power.

It may not be that special or all that original, but the acting is mostly pretty good, and it has some nice and interesting moments.
