Third Viewing: Hellraiser (1987)

Something that I think gets thrown around too often in film reviews is referring to a horror movie as “feeling like a nightmare.” I don’t think it’s often applicable, but when it is, you have something special on your hands. That, I think, is the case with the first Hellraiser movie.

Now I don’t love this movie, but I do come to appreciate it more and more every time I see it, so that should say something. It’s a movie that gets under your skin, if you have any that is.

But I love the score by Christopher Young, the cinematography’s pretty great. It’s a creepy movie.
