Conversations can happen everywhere #asana

You might be used to tools like Slack to discuss. You probably create channels and create threads. Discussions are happening everywhere in Slack and it might be difficult to follow, especially if you need to also manage the progress of tasks in Asana at the same time. If you come from email, I am so jealous, because you are about to experience the joy of using a tool like Asana.

In Asana, discussions can happen in a lot of different locations, depending on the topic. First, you can discuss a task in the task comment section. By using the comments section, instead of Slack, you can be sure the discussion is happening right where work is happening, and decisions won’t be lost.

You can also discuss a project inside the conversations tab of a project. This will be perfect to make an announcement about a project or talk about high-level subjects. By using Asana instead of Slack you will be able to reference tasks directly from your message, and the task will be a click away.

For even higher level conversations, you can use the conversation tab that appears when you click on a team name.

Manager Tip: You need to make sure discussions happen where work happens. Be very careful about discussions happening in Slack or by email, and make sure decisions made at the water cooler end up being written in Asana.

Bonus: Don’t hesitate to create an Asana task for the sole purpose of discussing something. No need to have someone assigned or have a due date. Just put the subject as task name, start the conversation in the comments and @-mention teammates!
