To help celebrate the listing of Crowny on AscendEX, AscendEX’s Mary Zheng sat down for an AMA with CEO Quincy Dagelet and COO Marcus Vlems of Crowny to gain more insight into the project’s success and strategy for the future.

For those that are not familiar, can you briefly describe Crowny, and what problems you are aiming to solve?

With Crowny we connect and reward users for engaging with their favorite brands, ensuring brands reach the right target audience, while protecting users’ privacy. Users receive relevant content and offers based on their preferences, allowing them to earn $CRWNY and loyalty points.

Great, let’s transition a bit towards the native token — CRWNY. How does the CRWNY token function within the platform and why is it needed?

So brands can create their own loyalty point system on Crowny and get a place in our app which results in a win-win for both the user and brand. Since we have two kinds of token programs. 1. Loyalty points (built on Solana) and Crowny tokens $CRWNY (ERC20 first). The utility offered by the loyalty points will largely be determined by the brands themselves. 2. The utility for $CRWNY will be staking at first, but we will add other things such as NFT mining and governance features in the near future!

Could you share the development status and progress of the project thus far? Including the major partners and perhaps some operational data.

We have a working App, which we will be released in steps, starting with the loyalty system. For the rewarding part, we need CRWNY also to be available on the Solana network, because of the fast and cheap transactions it needs.

That is impressive! You just mentioned $CRWNY staking. Can you please elaborate on the CRWNY staking? What kind of rewards should users expect to earn?

So we will be working alongside AscendEX for some of our staking programs. Also expect more information about this to be released later this week!

Cool! May I ask who will be the users/clients on your platform and what are some examples of use cases for them?

Quincy Dagelet | Crowny

In the beginning we will mainly focus on the adoption within the crypto space, whilst later on we will decide for a mainstream approach. You can see this in the whitepaper and pitch deck as well. For now I’ve included the roadmap! What’s described here is also a big part of our Go To Market Strategy

Let’s talk about the current landscape of other projects doing something similar. What separates you from some of the competitors?

When a lot of people hear about the rewarding capabilities of Crowny, they think of Brave, but there are many differences. Crowny provides a free loyalty system, allowing interaction between brands and consumers. The possibility for users to engage both on and offline is superior using Crowny. Another important element is that we are building on Solana and have several reasons to do so. We are doing so because it’s incredibly cheap and provides fast transactions. These features will allow us to instantly reward users via fast transaction speeds, allowing the better customer experience.

If a user wants to create an advertising campaign on the Advertising portal, can the payment be made in fiat instead of $CRWNY? or what efforts are you making to help simplify payments for users on your platform?

We will accept both to ensure that we are able to work with every brand. The fact we accept fiat does not mean that the reward the users is getting will be in fiat as well. Users will always receive CRWNY as a reward for their interaction. There are some interesting features/mechanisms for a brand that come into play when you are accepting both fiat and crypto. Especially when it comes to setting the reward the users are getting. We will reveal those mechanisms when we will release this functionality.

What kind of advertising mechanisms do you use to explain to the users more about the opportunities within the Serum ecosystem and how things such as DEX and wallet work from an educational perspective?

Quincy Dagelet | Crowny

We offer several mechanisms that a brand can utilize to maximize effectiveness and/or interaction. These mechanisms include: QR-codes, Geofences, and Push-notifications. These mechanisms are described in more detail in our whitepaper. Users using the Crowny app can be rewarded in either loyalty points from the brand and $CRWNY. The reward that a user receives for interacting with the content will always contain $CRWNY tokens with a set minimum. This minimum is set in a fiat currency and we will convert this minimum to $CRWNY the moment the users will be eligible for the reward.

Community support is one of the biggest aspects of a project’s success. Most projects have programs that interact with their users. Do you have a special plan to engage and expand the community and improve the user experience? Where are you currently focusing on, building product development that attracts customers and users or partnerships?

It’s a combination of all of the above. Personally I try to interact as much as possible with the community from @Crownyio so everyone has a direct line of communication. On top of that we will keep the community engaged by giving them chances to choose what we are building from a UI/UX perspective!

David Carey

NFT and Defi are trends in the crypto market and they are effectively expanding with many new projects coming up in the field. What do you think about the development of NFT and Defi? Which area are you focusing on at the moment? (DeFi, Stake,Dapps..) and what are your goals for this year ?

Marcus Vlems | Crowny

NFT’s are something we are definitely looking into. In our opinion it seems something that the ‘mainstream’ users find easier to grasp than crypto in general. Because we are aiming to improve the connection between brands and consumers, NFT’s can be an excellent addition to our platform.
