The Role of Comparative Law in the Social Sciences

On Saturday, September 12, the American Society of Comparative Law will hold its online conference on The Uses of Comparative Law in the Social Sciences. A group of distinguished social scientists will present papers explaining how comparative law figures in their research. Commentary will be provided by comparative law scholars familiar with the relevant fields. The papers will be published next year in a special issue of the American Journal of Comparative Law.

Confirmed speakers include. Tom Ginsburg, Francesco Parisi, Lee Epstein, Urska Sadi, Keren Weinshell, Lydia Brashear Tiede, Joshua Braver, Joseph Conti, David Gerber, Sungjoon Cho, Nuno Garoupa, Thomas Ulen, Tom Tyler, Erin Delaney, Annelise Riles, Tim McLellan, Monica Eppinger, and Christoph Engel.

This will be an outstanding event and promises some genuinely new insights about the value of comparative legal analysis. There is no charge to attend the Conference, but advance registration is required.
