Big Data in Cyber Security

--

If there is one domain that can be seen as a leading Big Data consumer, it is Cybersecurity. Increasingly with security analytics we must analyse data from many sources in real-time and over historical traces. A large company may thus have terabytes of logs generated each day, and these must be analysed for a needle in a haystack.

To showcase the importance of the area, we have had the 5th International Big Data in Cyber Security conference over the last two days [here]. If you want to watch Day 1, the presentations they are here:

and:

  • Day 2: main. Includes Federico Charosky, David Stubley, Adrian Smales and Cary Hendricks.
  • Day 2: academic. Includes Laura Irvine, Tim Musson, Peter Cruickshank and Keith McDevitt.
  • Day 2: final. Includes Prof Konstantinos Markantonakis, Adam Hall, Will Abramson and Susan Brown.
