I had to smile last week when I saw that Rishi Sunak was using a conference phone to call President Biden. For most of us, we have dumped the conference phone for Zoom or Teams, but I suppose some methods of government communications will take a while to remove:

But, we get a good deal of pressure from governments about improving our cybersecurity, and there are so many associated government agencies who basically echo these messages. But the suspected hacking of Liz Truss’s phone really does highlight cases of the lack of any proper integration of cybersecurity with our senior government officials:

I can’t even think about how this was able to happen. Surely, those who handle sensitive information have encrypted phones, and where is everything locked down? Or, perhaps, we are just not good at understanding the authentication and encryption that is required to secure our mobile devices, and in how humans interact with these methods?
