Futurama used to be my favouriate cartoon, and it gave a vision of a future world of robots where the AI had little regard for the intelligence of their human companions. The star — of course — is Bender, and who is a wise-cracking and surly robot and was created from the amazing mind of Matt Groening. Overall, Mat has a great passion for creating ciphers and puzzles in his work. He even presented his own cipher — an alien language (Alien Language 1; AL1):
It is first seen as a cipher in the episode, “Leela’s Homeworld”:

And, so if we read the first letter of the message, we get “n”, and then two “e’ letters. If we continue we get: “need extra cash? melt down your old unwanted humans we pay top dollar” [here]:

In the graphic, the first letter is — .. and which D, and the next is — — — (O), and then — . which is N, and then T, and the fully message spells out, “DONT DRINK EMPEROR”.
Overall, the AL1 cipher is not that secure, and involves a simple substitution cipher. This can often be broken with frequency analysis. But, Matt, also advanced to AL2 (Betacrypt 3), and which uses a cipher key:
