Bigger, Better, Beta!
The next step has been taken. After months of sweat and hard work, liters of hot and cold coffee, and many requests from you about when it finally starts, we have now released Ash Beta on the Kovan test net! This time it’s open and everybody can join to experience Ash first hand.
After our closed alpha testing from March to May 2019 we used feedback from early testers to make iterations on the UX and UI while preparing for a bigger number of users. With over 900 registered testers we are looking forward to see close to 1000 people using the Melon protocol through Ash for the first time. Of course we already gave the Melon Technical Council a chance to see what the interface looks and feels like and they seemed to have enjoyed their experiences with the first mobile interface to Melon:

It has never been that easy to buy and sell crypto assets and to navigate a portfolio from the palm of your hand:

The center of attention, of course, is the Versus mode. Even on the test net people can play challenges to compete over their asset management skills:

Now it is time for you to get on board. However, we can’t stress it enough: This is a beta product . It is a way for us to test what we have been building, to collect feedback, work on improvements and give you a preview while getting Ash production-ready. With that, there also comes bugs, hiccups, downtimes and limited functionality.
Limited in this case means also that Ash is still running on Kovan test net. All assets are simulated and there is no real money at stake. However, asset prices are taken from the real world (Kyber price feed), you compete with real people and your performance and ranking give you an impression on how you would perform if your own cash was in the pot.
The next big step on our roadmap is going to be the Beta tournament in 2020. The tournament is also going to run on Kovan and assets will be simulated BUT you will be able to earn real money rewards (DAI) according to your level and XP amount. By that time, we will also add more assets, both from the crypto space like other ERC20 or BTC as well as such assets that mirror stocks like Apple or McDonalds, indexes or ETFs.
Join us on our way to the main net release and help us to test Ash, find bugs and give us feedback on how you like it.
