Stand with Asian Americans x Vincent Chin 40th Remembrance & Rededication

by Brian Pang on June 21, 2022

Vincent Chin was a 27-year-old Chinese American attending his all-American bachelor party in Detroit on June 19, 1982 to celebrate his upcoming wedding. That night, he was brutally beaten to death by two white men, with a baseball bat at a time of intense anti-Asian hate. The killers, Ebens and Nitz, were sentenced to three years’ probation and $3000 in fines. Vincent’s tragic murder and unbelievably light sentence rallied Asian Americans nationwide to fight for justice and launch a movement.

Hosted by The Wing, Stand with Asian Americans have partnered with the Vincent Chin 40th Remembrance & Rededication organization to screen the Academy Award nominated feature, Who Killed Vincent Chin? on Thursday, June 23rd, in NYC, Chicago, and San Francisco. The screenings will be followed by onsite speaker panels & receptions.

Unity March

by Brian Pang on June 21, 2022

When we unite, we will bring real change.

On June 25th, 2022, step out and march with us in Washington, D.C. to advance equitable representation and rights for all of our communities.

Representation and Cultural Equity Platform

As people who identify as Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian Pacific Islander, immigrants, women, and/or LGBTQIA+, we have gone too long without seeing our experiences reflected by the news and media that now constantly surrounds us. The children of this generation and future generations deserve better.

Economic Empowerment Platform

Communities of color, especially Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and low-income immigrant workers and business owners, have been especially hard hit by both the economic fallout of this health crisis. We can do better.

True Democracy and Full Citizenship Platform

A cherished and fundamental practice of our democracy is our right to vote, a right for which Black organizers in the civil rights movement fought and died. Asian Americans and other people of color are too often excluded, invisibilized and face great barriers to accessing our democracy. We must ensure that this right is not only defended but strengthened, and that all people, regardless of race, gender, income level, sexual orientation, ability, or any other part of our humanness, have full and equal access to our electoral systems.

We are officially FOUR days away from the #UnityMarch2022. Join us on June 25, 2022 to march for the justice and rights our communities deserve.
