Does Medium Have a Way to Detect Plagiarized Content?

Or does it rely entirely on readers to report it?

I was recently plagiarized.

Somebody — or some bot — took four of my Medium stories and published them, word-for-word, under their byline. They were up there for a while. They earned the culprit a little money.

Nancy Santos was plagiarized. Some jerk took her poem and paywalled it. When she investigated, she found that they’d also stolen the work of several other Medium writers.

Kim Kelly Stamp’s story was plagiarized too. She found out about it the same way Nancy and I did. A reader spotted her stolen story and told her.
