No, I don’t look like this. But I FEEL like this whenever one of my writing clients gets boosted. (Photo by Clay Banks on Unsplash)

I’m a writing coach and editor who works with Medium writers to help them craft stories that are better and more boost-worthy.

It’s a fun job.

I love helping a writer make a good story even better. And when the resulting story is published — and boosted?

There’s nothing like it.

Michael’s Story

Yesterday I logged onto Medium to read a few stories while I was waiting for the train. And there on my home page was a terrific essay by Michael L. Maceira.

Michael is one of my clients. I’d worked with him on this essay. Michael is a gifted storyteller. When he brought this piece to me to work on, it was already pretty solid.

It was also 10 minutes long.

I usually encourage writers to trim their longer posts. In my experience, both as an editor and a Medium reader, most 10 minute posts are actually 7 minute posts…
