Edna St. Vincent Millay once observed that life isn’t one damn thing after another — it’s “one damn thing over and over.”

Some writers (not Edna!) apparently apply this principle to writing. They seem to believe that if something is worth saying, it’s worth saying many times, often in the same paragraph.

They’re wrong.

I’m a writing coach and editor-for-hire. For decades, I’ve helped writers to improve and publish their prose. I’ve also edited over a dozen collections and anthologies for a number of different publishers.

I’ve worked with beginning writers and accomplished writers, and every kind of writer in between, on projects ranging from 500-word humor pieces to 500-page novels.
