Who We Are & How To Submit

Hi Medium!

I’ve started a new publication, Ask Me About My Uterus, and we’re seeking submissions. We’re also looking to interview you about menstruation and will happily send along The Interview for your consideration. There’s no deadline and no word count. We’re taking everything on a rolling basis.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

First-person essays about womanhood, women’s health, menstruation, menopause, miscarriage, identity, sex and conditions of the reproductive system (endometriosis, PCOS, PMDD, infertility, etc.).

We would love it if all our contributors to responded to The #AskMeAboutMyUterus Interview, which is published weekly here and in our letter for Menstrual Monday! Email Abby if you’re interested!

These can incorporate any kind of media you’d like — audio, video, photography — we especially love GIFs. Memes are acceptable.

Menstrual blood is 100% accepted. We will never censor it.

This is an inclusive conversation and therefore, an inclusive publication. It doesn’t matter if you had a uterus and now you don’t, you never had one at all, you have just ovaries, only one ovary or no ovaries — it’s about how you identify and what you want to contribute to the conversation.

That being said, we don’t accept:

Hate speech of any kind,

Unsolicited medical advice,

Unsolicited life advice,

Mansplaining,

Unsolicited product placement (we’re open to hearing the story behind the development of your cool, new menstrual cup or your fabulous new tampon that’s awaiting patenting — but email us first to talk!)

We occasionally are open to:

Unsolicited photos of your dog,

Unsolicited photos of Nicolas Cage,

Haikus

Keep the conversation alive on social media using #AskMeAboutMyUterus and be sure to follow this publication for updates. We also put a new letter out each week, which we’d love it if you opted in to receive!
