Red wine is good for a lot of things. From providing sweet, much needed relaxation to ensuring an exciting night out, and then a host of other things. But are you aware that Red wine can be used to breathe a new life into the way your hair looks and feels in terms of health and luster? I know I already shared the goodies on Palmwine for healthy hair but this is different. Equally as insightful but, different nonetheless.

I promise you, you are reading this right. Just stick with me for a little while longer

First of all, Red wine contains ‘resveratrol’, a naturally occurring phenol which increases the life span of the hair follicle and suppresses a hormone called PDG2, which is linked to inhibited levels of hair growth while helping to maintain the blood flow of micro capillaries that feed the hair follicles.

This is proof that red wine actually helps you maintain healthy tresses in a lot of ways such as;

  • Protecting your hair from ultra-violet rays to the reduction of the formation of inflammation and dead cells thus preventing and hair fall promoting hair growth.
  • Accelerating the growth of keratin and preventing degradation of our hair structure thanks to its high dose of flavonoids. This along with the nutrients present in red wine is an excellent means to fight hair ageing.
  • Removing the problem of frizzy hair and stimulating natural hair growth by nourishing the strands from root to tip while keeping Dandruff at bay. et cetera

Also, Red Wine is a powerhouse of essential nutrients like Magnesium, Iron, Vitamin B6 and Potassium that play a major role in repairing and rejuvenating damaged hair.

How to use Red Wine to promote healthy hair.

  1. An overnight garlic and red wine mask for relief from itchy scalp and for growth stimulation.
  2. As a scalp rinse for increased growth and relief from dandruff.
  3. A mask for strand nourishment and hair loss in a mix with avocado and olive oil.
  4. A mask for strength with henna, Apple Cider Vinegar, Coffee and Olive oil.

However, with all of this information, I strongly feel the need to add this. Currently, there is no concrete scientific evidence supporting the use of red wine for hair growth so kindly note that all of this information this is still largely experimental as it based on individual testimonies and personal reviews, not backed by any significant scientific study or body.

Still though, feel free to try it out to come up with your own thoughts and review based on your experience. Your hair should thank you afterwards.

I’m pretty confident you’ve learnt some new things,

Don’t forget to drop a comment if you found this read interesting. I’d love to go through it and have a conversation with you.
