Sea fishing is a way for both for entertaining and mental practice. The enjoyment of a sinking bobber can’t be estimated, let alone the unique sea scenery that enrich your eyes. Rome wasn’t built in one day and it’s the same case for angling. You need to practice a lot before becoming a pro. But as a beginner, choose the right sea fishing rod can help you a lot.

Before choosing the fishing rod, understand some of the basics. Know about the power of fishing power. There are basically seven types: ultra-light, light, medium-light, medium, medium-heavy, heavy and ultra-heavy. It reveals how much your rod is able to support the fish size. Light weight ones are for small fish while the heavy ones are for heavy and big fish. For sea fishing, choose the weight or power as the size of targeted fish you mean to land.

Know about the action. Action is the degree of bending before a rod springs back. It’s rated from slow to very fast. If you want to angle small fish, try slow action rod. If you are to land big fish, a fast action rod is suggested.

Then you need to mind the fish rod material. Commonly used material is carbon fiber, graphite and a mixture of both. In terms of strength, graphite works the best. So it’s a popular choice among anglers as the best backpacking fishing rod material for a variety of fishing situations. Carbon fiber ones is the most affordable among them.

For sea fishing, fishing rods are generally come together with the reel. For beginners, such a combo saves them much trouble for making the separately selected reel and rod compatible. For lake fishing, small reels are better; while for pro ocean fishing, big reels are suggested. For beginner, it’s better to start with a spincast type rod.

Combine all the above factors to select a sea fishing rod. Even as a beginner, it won’t be too difficult to enjoy the pure enjoyment of landing a fish.
