Just like insects, most fish are photo tactic. They are likely to seek food at places where there is light. It will be a great time for night fishing in midsummer and early autumn when the water temperature is very mild(around 27℃)

There are many different ways of lighting for fishing at night.

Light source from nearby building and street lamp: there will be carnivorous and omnivorous fish seeking for the drown insects. It’s similar to fish at the day time. Except that luminous fishing floats and bigger fishing hook should be used to enlarge the biting signals and to enable a larger chance for landing your ideal fish.

Lantern: when fishing in areas without any natural light source, outdoor lantern becomes a very useful tool for lighting. Among the many types available, rechargeable remote control camping lantern can be a great choice. Find a place by the water where you can put up the lantern vertically. Just make sure it firmly fixed. After that it’s similar to the above fishing way.

Torch: When using a torch, it’s better to figure out the fishing spot before nightfall and cast enough lures to lure fish around. Then it’s recommended to through the light of torch ahead of the fishing float for a clear view of the float. Some choose to fix a bulb at the top of the fishing rod and connect it with electrical wire to dry batteries at the bottom.

So long as you follow the right steps to fish at night, you will not only be able to enjoy the landing of fish but also be impressed by the unique experience of night fishing.
