Now I know this is a Tech Blog… but I’m gate-crashing to take you off on a slight tangent to introduce some of the perks of working at ASOS, whether you work in Tech or not!

I could go on forever about the many reasons to work at ASOS, but hopefully these are some to get you thinking about what a career here might be like 💭

Health

Free gym and classes

Keeping a healthy routine is sometimes difficult now that we’ve gone back to hybrid working, but fear not! Our FREE on-site gyms are here to save the day!

We have gyms in London, Leavesden, and Belfast (open 24 hours in Belfast!) with resistance and cardio machines, squat racks, free weights, and a stretch area.

Some of our locations also have a fitness studio that is home to a range of classes including Spin, Barre, Legs Bums & Tums, and HIIT (yes, they’re all free!) The trainers are super friendly and always on hand to help if you have any questions.

Oh, and I almost forgot, you can get personal training sessions for £5… 🤯

Private medical cover & online GP

We are entitled to private medical cover, fully covered by ASOS, meaning we can get fast and effective access to medical care to get the right treatment, when we need it!

We also have access to a Virtual GP 24/7, 365 days a year where we can chat to a GP over the phone or via a video consultation, whatever works best for you.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

At ASOS, we have a free EAP that is there to help, support and advise, whatever your role, whatever you’re going through, and however you’re feeling.

There is so much help available through the EAP including:

  • Free counselling & CBT
  • Stress & anxiety support
  • Bereavement & loss support
  • Budgeting & debt management advice
  • Childcare, housing & tenancy support

Wellness

Summer hours

Who doesn’t love an early finish!? Throughout summer at ASOS (that’s June, July and August), employees get to finish at 3pm on Fridays *dreams about living in Spain and laying on a beach drinking a piña colada at 3.01pm*

It’s really encouraged to make sure you take this time for yourself and not have to make the time up on another day.

Whether you want to spend your Friday afternoon going for a walk in the sun with a podcast (obvious choice is our ASOS Tech podcast), playing tennis, or binging your fave crime documentary 🤓 it’s a great way to wind down and make your weekend just that little bit longer.

Beauty bar

Can I interest you in a lunch time beauty treatment?

Our on-site beauty salons in London and Leavesden offer face and body treatments galore. Whether you want a brow tint, a mani-pedi, or a relaxing facial and massage, the beauty bar has got you covered.

All treatments are offered by qualified beauty therapists at discounted prices compared to going elsewhere too!

ASOS Develops

ASOS Develops is a time when we’re encouraged to take time away from our day jobs and sign up for a bunch of fun sessions. Whether it’s to focus on your wellbeing, get your creative juices flowing, or listen to one of our partner brand talks, there really is something for everyone.

Here’s just a few examples of what went on at our last ASOS Develops at the end of June…

  • Affirmation bracelet making
  • Neurodiversity at work and Pride 2023 talks
  • Yoga classes
  • Phone photography and styling
  • Gait analysis from New Balance

Tech actually have their own version of this called ‘Tech Develops’. On the last Friday of every month, we pause product development where we can, and dedicate the day to your learning and personal development. That means no other meetings and no distractions. It’s time to learn, to innovate, to develop your skills and come back together to share what you’ve achieved.

Other fun stuff…

Discount

Did someone say ASOS discount??? ASOS employees get a whopping 40% off of our wardrobe. Yes! You heard it correctly. This is huuuuuge, especially for those big-ticket items like coats and shoes 🤩

As well as this, there are always events and fun activities going on at our offices. You may have seen that we recently had a ‘Sportswear Takeover’ week, where brands such as Puma, Adidas, and Nike came to celebrate sportswear.

We had the brilliant Olympian Morgan Lake x Puma talk about her journey as an athlete, New Balance conducted gait analysis and handed out refreshing smoothies, and even a skateboarding lesson from Vans (I’ve been looking for a new hobby and I think this might be it…)

There’s never a dull week with promos and freebies at our offices!

Sample sales

If the discount and freebies weren’t enough, there are also Sample Sales that ASOSers can sign up to and buy items for super cheap. These sample sales have absolutely everything, and generally have new season items a couple of months earlier than what you would see on the ASOS site. This means we’re the first ones to have access to the upcoming trends 💁‍♀️

And what’s better, the proceeds go to the ASOS Foundation, our official charity since 2010, so it’s great to know you’re giving back whilst filling up your wardrobe with your new looks 💞

Give a day away

Another likely-lesser-known perk at ASOS is Give a Day Away (GADA). Every ASOSer is entitled to 7.5 volunteering hours each financial year. These hours can be used for one single volunteering opportunity or spread across several if you’d like to split them up.

If you have a charity or project in mind, you can simply agree on what would work best for the charity. If you’re unsure on what to do, you can sign up to one of the volunteering opportunities advertised during one of our two annual GADA windows. There is also a catalogue of charities who accept volunteers, which is a great place to go if you’re unsure on where to start.

Convinced yet?

When I said I could go on forever about the perks, I really meant it!

There are just a few that I’ve listed here, but I’m always happy to have a chat. So feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn and I can talk you through even MORE of our great perks, or just chat generally about a potential career at ASOS 😊

I’m Leah, and I work as a Recruiter for Tech & Ops at ASOS. When I’m not playing supermarket sweep at a sample sale, you can find me watching true crime documentaries, walking along Brighton beach, or choosing my next travel destination 🌏
