It was the day I lost everything,
love slipped through my fingers,
stoic faith mangled by agnostic shadows
leaving an enduring blemish on a varnished soul.

A trace of pessimism sours the air,
I can still feel the power of its weight breaking the silence,
while it slowly consumes my glitter.

Innocence stolen,
tender love broken,
stranded and sutured,
hoping to stop the seeping of corrosive tears
like swords bleeding stones
compromised and shattered by a mere pinprick.

Yesterday lingers like punctured clouds,
why trust the sunshine, when rain is coming,
when my brain is pierced
with delusions of happiness long gone?
Maybe it’s better to just feel numb,
until tomorrow can stitch up broken stars.
